Description

Total Gym Elevate Press

The ELEVATE Press is a commercial shoulder press machine that introduces an entirely new way to do a shoulder press. The ELEVATE Press places users in an inverted position, unloading the lower back and reducing spinal compression. Seven adjustable levels allow users to select a percentage of their own bodyweight as resistance, while the unique closed chain design reduces shoulder impingement that users typically feel using traditional shoulder press gym equipment and stabilizes the shoulder girdle for safe and effective upper body strengthening. Users are also provided with a mechanism for performing a decline push-up.

Benefits

The ELEVATE Press takes the traditional shoulder press and inverts it, providing the unique benefits of inversion while still engaging all the muscles of the upper body to efficiently and effectively enhance muscle definition and improve overall strength.

Using a percentage of a person’s own bodyweight , the Press Trainer is the only closed-chain shoulder press machine that  allows for plyometric movements.

Benefits for the individual exerciser:

  • Designed for intuitive use and success in performing press up
  • Strengthens all the muscles of the upper body
  • Seven incline levels allow users to progress from pulling as little as 15 percent of their own bodyweight up to 50 percent.
  • Allows for plyometric movements.
  • Ability to progress a decline push-up
  • Inverted position stabilizes shoulder girdle and reduces spinal compression and shoulder impingement.
  • Enhanced functional performance of daily activities and increased athleticism
  • Exercises can be progressed or regressed to accommodate all fitness levels

Training applications and biomechanics:

  • Closed-chain partial loading of the joints
  • Offers multiple hand grip positions
  • Restricted range of motion
  • Train using only bodyweight
  • Joint friendly, non-compressive
  • Reliable tool for assessing upper body strength

FAQ

Why would my members like this machine?
The ELEVATE Press is an ideal tool that helps users perform a traditional shoulder press. By inverting the exercises, all muscles of the upper body are engaged but the user is only pulling between 15 - 50% of bodyweight, dependent on the incline, making the exercise accessible to those who could not previously engage in this activity.

How many adjustable levels are there?
The ELEVATE Press has seven levels of incline which can be raised or lowered to accommodate any fitness levels.

How much floor space do I need?
You will need an area of 14 square feet (1.4 square meters).

What is the user weight capacity?
The maximum user weight capacity of the ELEVATE Press is 400lbs (180 kg).

FAQs
Frequently asked question

Is the Total Gym ELEVATE Press worth it for a commercial gym?

Yes. The ELEVATE Press is built for commercial use, offering a durable, innovative design that stands out from traditional shoulder press machines. Its bodyweight-based resistance system accommodates a wide range of users without requiring weight plates, reducing maintenance needs. The inverted positioning also helps protect users' spines and shoulders, which can lower injury liability — making it a smart long-term investment for any serious fitness facility.

Does the Total Gym ELEVATE Press come with a warranty?

Total Gym commercial equipment typically comes with a manufacturer's warranty covering parts and structural components. Warranty specifics for the ELEVATE Press may vary, so we recommend reviewing the product documentation or contacting our support team directly to confirm current coverage terms before purchasing. Buying from an authorized retailer also ensures your warranty remains valid.

How does the ELEVATE Press differ from a traditional shoulder press machine?

Unlike traditional shoulder press machines that load the spine vertically, the ELEVATE Press places users in an inverted position. This unloads the lower back and reduces spinal compression. It also uses a closed chain design, which minimizes shoulder impingement — a common complaint with standard overhead press equipment. Resistance is based on a percentage of the user's own bodyweight across seven adjustable levels.

What muscles does the Total Gym ELEVATE Press target?

The ELEVATE Press primarily targets the deltoids (shoulders), but also engages the triceps, upper chest, and core stabilizers. Because it uses a closed chain movement pattern, multiple muscle groups work together during each rep, promoting functional strength. The inverted body position additionally activates stabilizing muscles that are often underused on traditional shoulder press machines.

How is resistance adjusted on the ELEVATE Press?

The ELEVATE Press features seven adjustable incline levels that determine how much of the user's bodyweight serves as resistance. A higher incline increases the percentage of bodyweight used, making the exercise more challenging. This self-scaling system means users of different fitness levels and body weights can train on the same machine without adding or removing weight plates.

Who is the ELEVATE Press suitable for?

The ELEVATE Press is designed for commercial gym environments and suits a broad range of users, from beginners to advanced athletes. Because resistance scales with bodyweight, it's naturally adjustable for different fitness levels. The spine-friendly, inverted design also makes it a great option for users who experience lower back discomfort or shoulder impingement with traditional overhead pressing machines.
