Total Gym Closed Chain Platform

The Closed Chain Platform (CCP) facilitates a number of lower body exercises, including loaded and unloaded squats and calf raises. Ideal in the physical therapy setting, this functional training platform can also be used in combination with other products, like a BAPS board for unloaded BAPS usage,  to safely and gradually challenge balance and mobility. The closed chain platform also allows for a wide variety of foot patterning and positions that facilitate progressive training of movements for speed and agility.

Used in physical therapy for early closed-chain functional movement patterns in an unloaded environment.

Accelerated angular resistance gives trainers access to controlled, progressive speed and agility training during plyometric foot patterning drills.

Client specific progressions can be designed by clinicians and trainers to increase functional abilities and accelerate game ready status.

The CCP can also be used in combination with other products to safely and gradually challenge balance and mobility. U-Joint allows for unloaded BAPS usage.

The Closed Chain Platform is versatile enough for both home and clinical settings. While it's especially popular in physical therapy environments, fitness enthusiasts benefit from its wide range of lower body exercises, including squats and calf raises. If you're focused on functional training, balance work, or rehabilitation at home, it's a solid investment that pairs well with your existing Total Gym setup.

Where can I buy the Total Gym Closed Chain Platform and does it come with a warranty?

The Closed Chain Platform is available directly through Total Gym's official website and authorized retailers. Purchasing from an authorized source ensures you receive genuine product support. Warranty terms vary, so we recommend reviewing the warranty details on the product page or contacting customer support before purchasing to confirm coverage for accessories like the Closed Chain Platform.

What exercises can I do with the Total Gym Closed Chain Platform?

The Closed Chain Platform supports a variety of lower body exercises, including loaded and unloaded squats, calf raises, and multiple foot positioning patterns. It also works with accessories like a BAPS board for balance and mobility drills. This makes it ideal for progressive training, rehabilitation, and functional movement development.

What does 'closed chain' mean and why does it matter for exercise?

Closed chain exercises keep your foot in contact with a fixed surface, like a platform, while you move. This engages multiple muscle groups simultaneously and mimics real-world movement patterns. Closed chain training is widely used in rehabilitation because it's generally safer for joints while still building functional strength and stability.

Is the Closed Chain Platform compatible with all Total Gym models?

Compatibility can vary depending on your specific Total Gym model. The Closed Chain Platform is designed to integrate with the Total Gym system, but we recommend checking your model's accessory compatibility list or contacting Total Gym support to confirm it will work with your machine before purchasing.

Can the Closed Chain Platform be used for physical therapy and balance training?

Yes, it's specifically designed with physical therapy in mind. The platform supports unloaded and loaded movements that help patients safely rebuild strength and mobility. When combined with a BAPS board, it enables balance training in a controlled environment. Its adjustable foot positioning options allow therapists to gradually progress patients through rehabilitation protocols.
