The problem with small spaces

A real cable gym usually needs real floor space. The Mi5 does not.

Most functional trainers that offer genuine cable versatility come with a footprint to match, which rules them out for tight home gyms, studio corners, or apartment setups. The Hoist Fitness Mi5 Functional Trainer was built to remove that tradeoff. Its single-column frame is Hoist's most compact, space-efficient functional trainer to date, and it still delivers two fully adjustable pulley arms with 22 vertical positions and 7 angle adjustments per side, giving you over 1,000 cable variations from one machine.

Each arm swings from 80 degrees above flat to 80 degrees below it, so pressing, rowing, chopping, and rotational movements are all available without repositioning the entire machine. A counterbalanced carriage system means height adjustments take one hand and a few seconds, not a wrestling match with a pin.

The enclosed 200 lb Silent Steel weight stack keeps the workout quiet and friction-free, with no metal-on-metal contact between plates.

Built to Hoist's commercial standard

Commercial-grade cable training, engineered into a footprint that fits almost anywhere.

The Mi5 carries the same engineering standard Hoist applies across its functional trainer line, scaled into a single-column frame. A 4:1 split cabling ratio extends your working cable travel up to 160 inches with strap handles, giving you far more range than a standard 1:1 cable stack. Weight stack locks let you disengage the plates entirely for suspension-style bodyweight training, rated for users up to 250 lbs.

Built-in convenience features include a bottle holder, an integrated tablet mount, and an accessory rack, so attachments and devices stay organized instead of cluttering the floor. Budget cable towers in this size class typically offer a single fixed arm angle, a louder exposed weight stack, and none of the suspension-training capability built into the Mi5.

  • Two fully adjustable pulley arms, 22 positions by 7 angles per side
  • 4:1 split cabling for up to 160 inches of cable travel
  • Weight stack locks enable suspension-style bodyweight training
  • Enclosed 200 lb Silent Steel weight stack for quiet operation
  • Built-in tablet mount, bottle holder, and accessory rack

Who it is for

Strength, mobility, and rehab work for every fitness level, in a fraction of the space.

Home gyms with limited square footage, rehab and mobility programs, and strength conditioning circuits all benefit from the Mi5's combination of full cable versatility and a genuinely small footprint. Beginners get a safe, guided range of motion, while advanced users get enough angle and position combinations to build entire programs around one machine. An optional accessory kit adds a core stabilizer pad, an aluminum long bar and curl bar, a long strap, an ankle strap, and carabiner adaptors for even more exercise variety.

Lower-cost compact cable towers usually fix the arm at one angle, skip the suspension-training capability, and use a louder, exposed weight stack that wears faster under regular use. The Mi5 is built to hold up as a daily training tool, not just an occasional-use machine.

Pair it with a Hoist HF 4145, HF 5167, or HF 5165 bench for a complete strength and functional training setup in a compact corner of your gym.
